As a fashion editor, fashion week is the industry equivalent of the Super Bowl. It’s the event we anxiously anticipate twice a year to see the fresh ideas that will be on everyone’s lips in the next few months. And with the recent conclusion of the fall/winter presentations, there are plenty of new and exciting ideas to talk about.
The fall collections brought a mixture of practicality, as seen by the sudden explosion of the white tank top at Bottega Veneta and Prada, and a heightened sense of drama that embodied fantasy and grandeur (just take a look at Valentino’s all-pink runway show for further proof). After scanning the runways of Paris, New York, Milan, and London, I summed up a few of the overarching trends and ideas that dominated the season. Whether it’s for the forward concept they represent or the innovative way they’re styled, these are the looks I’m rushing to replicate ASAP.
